Hi, I'm Kevin. I traveled extensively through a long career in software development, and I always enjoyed the planning side as much as the trips themselves: the deep research, the careful organizing, the details that make travel smooth and stress free. Retiring meant more time for both, more trips and even deeper planning, and it still left room to start planning trips for other people too.
So now I do that as a travel advisor in the San Francisco Bay Area. The trips I like best are the complicated ones: multi-city, multi-country, the trip you've been talking about for years.
Falco is the planning tool I built for this work. It's where my clients and I shape a trip together, and it's the itinerary in your pocket once you're traveling.

How I work with clients
Most travel services give you two options: do everything yourself on a booking site and hope you don't make a mistake, or hand the whole trip to an advisor and lose visibility into what's happening. I've never been happy with those two extremes and think there is a lot of value in between.
You decide how much you want to do. Research destinations yourself, or ask me to. Compare hotels on your own, or get a shortlist. Build the day-by-day, or let me draft one. The handoff point is wherever you want it to be. It can change booking by booking.
When it's time to book, if you book through me you also get access to Fora's preferred-partner network: Virtuoso, Four Seasons Preferred, Rosewood Elite, and others. That means upgrades, resort credits, breakfast, late checkout, and rates that often beat what you'd find searching on your own.
Same hotel, better stay.
And hotels aren't the whole story. In many destinations, the best local specialists, the operators arranging private guides, drivers, behind-the-scenes access, and on-the-ground support, only take bookings through travel advisors. The industry calls them destination management companies. On a complicated trip, they're often what makes everything feel effortless.
A few things about how I work:
- A few trips at a time. I keep my client list short so nothing gets rushed. If I'm at capacity, I'll tell you.
- Full transparency. You see every option, every price, every trade-off.
- Honest about rates. If you can do better booking somewhere else, I'll tell you. Some things, rental cars being the usual example, are often cheaper on Costco Travel or Expedia, and I'll say so upfront.
- No minimums, no pressure. You decide how much help you want, booking by booking.
About Falco
I built Falco because the existing tools weren't quite right for the way I plan trips, either for myself or for clients. I've been a software engineer for over 35 years, the last 15 at Google, so when I hit a gap I build the thing I wish existed.
Falco is what I use day-to-day for client work. Every time I notice something missing or awkward, I add it. So the tool reflects what actually comes up when planning a trip, not what someone thought might come up. If you notice something missing while we plan your trip, tell me and I'll likely add it.
One thing in particular that other tools seem to be missing: most of them assume you already have a trip. You enter your dates, your destination, and the tool helps you organize what's already decided. But trips don't usually start that way. They start as "we should go somewhere this winter" and slowly take shape over weeks or months. Falco is built for that earlier stage too. Keep a trip idea around, iterate on it casually, come back to it when you're ready.
When we work together, Falco is our shared workspace. I set you up with an account, and you use it as much or as little as you want. Plan alongside me, react to drafts and options I put together, capture group decisions, or just read the finished plan. It handles everything from a long weekend up through multi-week, multi-destination group trips with split itineraries, and it reviews plans as we go, catching things like a flight that lands too late, a stretch with no lodging, or a city we've given one day too few.
Then once you're traveling, the same trip becomes your live itinerary: today's plan, confirmations, weather, and what's next, all on your phone. Your travel companions can follow along with a shared link, no account needed.
What it costs
You don't pay me directly. When you book through me, the hotel or travel provider pays a standard commission. That's the same arrangement that unlocks the preferred-partner rates and perks, and most clients end up paying the same or less than they would booking everything themselves.
I'll be upfront about the incentive that creates: commissions vary a lot by booking, and it can tempt an advisor to recommend whatever pays best. That's not how I work. I recommend what fits you best, and on the trips I love planning that's often the option that pays me little or nothing: a rail pass, a rental apartment, booking direct where it's genuinely cheaper. I don't charge a planning fee today, though I may introduce a modest one down the road. If that changes, you'll know before we start.
